Licensed Veterinary Technician

Northwest Veterinary Hospital

Seattle Veterinary Associates, a doctor-owned, multi-hospital, AAHA accredited practice has an opening for a Licensed Veterinary Technician. This full time position will consist of working approximately 38 hours per week with a range from 35-40 hours per week. Northwest Veterinary Hospital is located just south of Green Lake. Pay starts at a minimum of $15/hr, negotiable DOE. Technicians are utilized to their maximum potential and leveraged to their maximum skills, therefore a current Washington license is a prerequisite; experience in dentistry is required.

Applicants should be competent in the following skills:

-Understand and apply pharmacology and mathematics to ensure proper patient dosage
-Obtain diagnostic radiographic studies
-Perform dental prophylaxis and extractions as directed by DVM
-Perform basic emergency care, CPR, and intensive care
-Measure, administer and monitor anesthesia accurately and safely
-Act as sterile or non-sterile assistant to DVM during surgery; be familiar with surgical equipment and techniques
-Set up and assist with procedures utilizing surgical laser, endoscope and laparoscope
-Set up chemotherapy schedules; perform specified treatments
-Facilitate outpatient diagnostic care and treatments
-Proficient with clinical laboratory skills; collection, processing and analysis of urine, feces, blood and tissue samples
-Able to work 10+ hours in a day
-Able to stand for long periods of time
-Able to lift 40 lbs

Green Lake Animal Hospital

Seattle Veterinary Associates, a doctor-owned, multi hospital, AAHA accredited practice, has an opening for a Licensed Veterinary Technician at our Green Lake Animal Hospital, with one shift a week at our Northwest Veterinary Hospital, located south of Green Lake. This full time position will consist of working approximately 34 hours per week with a range from 33-38 hours. Shifts include Monday at Northwest Veterinary Hospital, and Tuesday, Wednesday and Sunday at Green Lake Animal Hospital. Pay starts at a minimum of $15.00/hr, negotiable depending on experience
